The Work Began After Graduation
When Isabella Baldwyn completed her training, she didn’t assume a career would simply follow.
She had gained the technical skills. What came next was earning the confidence of an employer willing to give a new graduate an opportunity.
That challenge became just as important as the education itself.
Choosing a Profession with Intention
Medical aesthetics appealed to Isabella because it combined technical precision with working closely with people. It was a profession where learning would continue long after graduation.
During La Vie Academy’s Medical Aesthetics and Advanced Medical Aesthetics programs, she approached every practical session as preparation for the clinic she hoped to join one day. By graduation, she understood that completing a program was only the beginning.
“La Vie gave me the skills and knowledge I needed to break into the field and pursue the opportunities I was looking for.”
Persistence Between Opportunity and Employment
Finding that first position required patience.
Isabella applied to clinics, followed up, and continued introducing herself even when conversations didn’t immediately lead to an offer. Rather than settling for the first opportunity available, she remained focused on finding a clinic where she could continue developing as a practitioner.
That persistence eventually led her to The Medical Collective, where she began her career as a Medical Aesthetician.
A Different Kind of Learning
Starting her first professional role changed the nature of learning.
The classroom gave way to daily clinical practice. Every appointment became another opportunity to refine technical skills, strengthen communication with clients, and build the confidence that only comes through experience.
Today, she continues growing in the profession she deliberately chose.
Looking Back
When asked what advice she would give future graduates, Isabella doesn’t talk about treatments or equipment.
She talks about persistence.
“Be prepared to market yourself and put in the work to get noticed. I had to reach out multiple times and stay persistent before I found the right opportunity. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.”
Her experience is a reminder that education provides the foundation, but careers are built one opportunity at a time—and the first opportunity often belongs to those who keep showing up.
