Where Confidence Is Built
Long before her first day at Fade Away Laser & Skin Care Centre, Gisselle Frances understood that technical knowledge alone wouldn’t prepare her for clinical practice.
Working with clients requires something different.
It requires confidence not the kind that comes from reading a textbook, but the kind that develops gradually through practice, feedback, and repetition.
That was what she hoped to find when she entered medical aesthetics.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
From her first conversations with La Vie Academy, Gisselle appreciated knowing what to expect. Questions about the program, admissions process, and financing were answered clearly, allowing her to focus on what came next.
Once training began, however, it was the practicum that shaped her experience most.
Working in small classes gave her time to ask questions, receive individual feedback, and become more comfortable performing treatments. Just as important, it introduced her to classmates and instructors who made the learning environment feel collaborative rather than intimidating.
“The practicum was my favourite part of the program. The small classes created such a welcoming environment, and I was able to build lasting relationships with both my classmates and instructors.”
For Gisselle, confidence wasn’t something that appeared all at once. It grew with each practical session.
From Practice to Profession
After graduation, Gisselle began her career as a Medical Aesthetician at Fade Away Laser & Skin Care Centre, bringing the skills she had developed in training into a clinical setting.
The transition from student to practitioner also changed her perspective. Technical treatments remained important, but so did the conversations that came before them listening to clients, understanding their goals, and building trust over time.
Those are the parts of the profession she continues developing every day.
Still Learning
Medical aesthetics is a field that rewards curiosity, and Gisselle sees learning as an ongoing part of her career.
She continues expanding her knowledge while gaining experience in practice, knowing that every client brings a new opportunity to refine both her technical skills and her judgement.
Her advice to future students reflects that same approach.
“Medical aesthetics is an industry where you’re constantly learning and adapting. Stay curious, ask questions, and make the most of every opportunity during your training. The knowledge and confidence you build will stay with you throughout your career.”
For Gisselle, the most important lessons didn’t arrive all at once.
They were built one practical session, one conversation, and one client at a time.
